I was promoted!

I was promoted on 1 Jan 2022 as Principal Engineer. My last promotion was 3 years ago. Is this promotion consider fast track for high performer? I have been receiving Band 1 for my appraisal for the past 3 years and I was lucky enough before my boss went for his retirement, he had actually pushed for my promotion and gave me a good appraisal for my promotion.

Ever since I know my boss will be retiring, I had actually took up another opportunity from my current boss to transfer to his company or rather "department" to help him. The first 3 months had been a struggle for me as I was trying hard to adapt to the new culture. On top of that, I have to work for another "department" under the same new boss to take on more projects.

Time past very fast when you are busy by taking on more projects. I have to juggle the time spent for each projects and to de-conflict the schedule in order to avoid clashing of meetings and milestone reviews. I would say I am getting more experienced in my area of works after 8 years with the organization. Hopefully the fire will continue to burn and not I being burnt out due to getting more busier after my promotion whereby I have to contribute even more for being more senior now.
